Subscribe An Agent To A Channel
After adding an integration globally, subscribe an agent to the channel in the agent configuration.
This lets one integration be shared by multiple agents while each agent keeps its own participation settings.
Open Channels
Open the agent, then select Config > Channels.
The Channels tab lists integrations configured in Settings > External Communications.
If the list is empty, add an integration globally first.
Subscribe The Agent
Turn on the integration for the agent.
After subscribing, the agent can be active or paused for that integration.
Use pause when you want to keep the subscription settings but temporarily stop the agent from participating.
Edit Per-Agent Settings
Select Edit settings on a subscribed integration.
Per-agent settings can include:
- Admin behavior.
- Wake behavior.
- Allowed channel lists.
- Runtime timeout.
- Integration-specific controls.
The exact fields depend on the integration type and mode.
Global Off Versus Agent Paused
Globally off means the integration itself is disabled in Settings > External Communications.
Paused for this agent means the integration is still globally available, but this agent is not currently active on it.
Use global disable for service-wide maintenance. Use agent pause for one agent.
Wake Settings
Wake settings decide when inbound messages should trigger an agent run.
Keep wake behavior narrow. Start with mention-based or allowlisted behavior when possible, then expand only after reviewing real messages and runs.
Test Before Relying On It
After subscribing:
- Send a low-risk test message.
- Confirm the agent wakes only when expected.
- Review Activity and Run Detail.
- Check integration logs if messages do not arrive.
- Adjust channel allowlists and wake settings.
Troubleshooting
If no integrations appear, configure one in Settings > External Communications.
If an integration appears as Globally off, enable it globally first.
If the agent does not respond, check whether it is paused for that integration.
If the agent responds in the wrong place, tighten the per-agent channel allowlist.
If the run fails, inspect Activity and integration logs.
Next Step
After channel subscriptions work, configure remote approval only for channels where you want to approve actions away from the desktop.
