Terms

Plain terms that protect both of us

These terms cover the TripleBits website and Apprentice desktop application. I keep the language short, direct, and fair.

Last updated June 28, 2026

By using TripleBits you agree to the expectations on this page. I keep the language short, direct, and free of surprises.

If something ever feels unclear, contact me. I'll clarify in writing and, when needed, update the policy so everyone benefits.

What TripleBits provides

Apprentice, a desktop application, and the related services around it.

  • Apprentice is distributed through GitHub. Download links and release notes are available on its product page.
  • Pre-release versions (alpha, beta, RC) are labeled clearly. Expect faster iteration and occasional rough edges in those builds.
  • License validation requires periodic connectivity. If my services are temporarily unavailable, Apprentice continues working with a seven-day grace period.

Infrastructure and operations

I host core systems directly and keep operational control.

  • Core TripleBits services, including analytics, are self-hosted on infrastructure I control in the EU.
  • A small number of external providers are used for specific functions such as payments and network protection.

Your responsibilities

You control how you use Apprentice.

  • Do not use Apprentice for illegal, abusive, or infringing purposes. You are solely responsible for how you use it.
  • Security research is welcome when coordinated. Please reach out before probing any systems.
  • Sharing licenses or reselling access without written approval is not allowed.

Payments and licensing

Transparent pricing with flexible options.

  • Payments are processed through Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Taxes are calculated and collected by Paddle based on your jurisdiction.
  • Apprentice is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription. The subscription renews each billing period until you cancel.
  • A limited lifetime purchase is sometimes available as a one-time payment that does not renew. It is capped by the number of sales, so it may sell out and stop being offered, after which only the subscriptions remain.
  • A lifetime purchase keeps access to the licensed version of Apprentice.
  • A free community edition is available before you commit to an upgrade. If the upgrade doesn't meet your expectations, request a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
  • The 30-day refund period applies to a lifetime purchase and the first payment of a new subscription. Subscription renewals are not refundable; cancel before your next billing cycle to stop future charges.

Intellectual property

Respect runs both ways.

  • You keep ownership of the content, data, and assets you upload.
  • TripleBits keeps ownership of the platform code, product identities, and documentation.
  • You grant me permission to host, process, and back up your material only to provide the services you requested.

Limitation of liability

Apprentice is provided as-is.

  • Apprentice is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
  • I am not liable for any damages, data loss, or issues arising from the use of Apprentice or related services.
  • You assume full responsibility for evaluating whether Apprentice meets your needs.

Changes and termination

Policies evolve as Apprentice grows, but I communicate changes clearly.

  • I will post policy updates on the website and note material changes in the changelog. Continued use means you accept the latest terms.
  • If a change is material and you disagree, cancel within 30 days and I will close the account with no penalty.
  • I may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or put the platform, Apprentice, or services at risk.
  • These terms are governed by Polish law. Any disputes will be resolved in Polish courts.

Thanks for treating Apprentice - and the community around it - with the same care I do.
